This Indenture made this 6th of April in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty nine Between John Hooper of the County of Monroe and State of Tennessee of the one part, and Andrew Hooper of the County of Bradley and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the Said John Hooper for and in consideration of the Sum one thousand dollars to him in hand paid by the Said Andrew Hooper the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath this _^^dayBargain and Sold, unto the Said Hooper a certain tract of Land Containing two hundred and Eighty five acres of Land, Be the Same more or less - Being in the County of Monroe and State of Tennessee

Being in the South East Range of the Meredian and the third Fractional Township in the twenty first and twenty eighth Sections and the South west quarter and five acres in the South west Corner of the South East quarter Section twenty one. Forty acres Square in the North West corner of the North East quarter of Section twenty Eight.

I John Hooper doth warrant and defend from me and my heirs unto Andrew Hooper and his heirs will warrant and defend against the claim or claims of Any persons whatever in Law or Equity unto the Said Andrew Hooper his heirs or assigns forever.

Broyles Clerk of the County Court of Monroe County John Hooper, the bargainor to the within deed with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that he executed the Same for the purposes therein Contained Witness my hand at office in Madisonville September 17^th 1839.
