- Kentucky records
- James Hooper will probated in Union County, Kentucky in 1813. He spent much of his married life in upper South Carolina, and moved to Kentucky around 1803.
- A Georgia record
- Esaias Harbour will and estate of Franklin County, Georgia (1830s). The will briefly mentions Harbour's "former son-in-law Richard Hooper" and grandson William M. Hooper.
- North Carolina records
- Jackson County NC Equity Case - a vicious court case pitting ten children of Absalom Hooper against two of their brothers. A full discussion of the case appears in the first volume of the Hooper Compass.
- Wills involving family of William Hooper, North Carolina's Signer of the Declaration of Independence.
- Tennessee records
- Churchill Hooper of [then] Davidson County, Tennessee wrote his will in 1807.
Transcription and images of his will as submitted for probate in 1808. The will identifies executor Thomas Hooper as a brother to the testator. Records pertaining to this testator sometimes identify him as Churchwell Hooper or as Churchell Hooper.
- William Hooper 1825, Montgomery County. William Hooper had
been among the first settlers of middle Tennessee, having appeared on a 1787 tax list for
Davidson County.
- Natchez/Nashville Absalom Hooper
1811, Davidson County. Absalom Hooper migrated to middle Tennessee from the Natchez District in 1783. Also see a biography of this man at What we know about Natchez Absalom Hooper.
